My name is Michaela and I am the person behind Dyin about Derry. I am a Mum (of children and a dog), wife (aka Mum to a big child), PA for my self employed husband, teacher, serial overthinker and daily anxiety manager, and probably 100 other things mixed in together.

A few years ago when living in England I came across some small businesses that made pretty cool products celebrating their local dialect. I loved everything about it, and thought, wouldn't it be class to have a Derry version of that?! Love it or loathe it, our Derry accent is pretty distinctive and even though I maintain that my accent isn't the strongest (I know many who will disagree with me there), having lived in various parts of England, I have had to adapt how I speak at times just to be understood.

Anyway, life being as it is, my idea had to be shelved more than once for me to prioritise, but I couldn't shake this desire to give it a go, so I decided to just give it a go and Dyin about Derry was born.
